Through My Lens: Amanda Lee.

After admiring Amanda for a bit through instagram, I reached out to her and simply asked if she’d be interested in taking photos. I’ll’s always intimidating to me when I reach out to someone that I admire online but lately it’s worked out well and cool connections (and even friendships) have been formed. She very well could have said no but thankfully she said yes. We discussed ideas for a couple weeks and finally decided on..a rooftop. And well..this the result. I’m so happy with how these turned out! Hands down one of my favorite shoots of this past Summer.

Such a pleasure to spend time with and photograph you, Amanda Lee! =D Perhaps we can do this again?

”..whatchu think we wearing black for?! Ready for that..”

Wearing:Club Monaco hat x oversize t shirt x custom destroyed denim (1 of 1) x Zara Chelsea boots.

This has become my uniform as of late..lookout for how I style this hat and Chelsea boots..they’re well on their way to being a constant staple in my wardrobe.

On The Streets: Monika of Chicago In Stilettos.

…you may recognize Monika from the very first street style photo I ever took w/my Nikon..

Well here we are, about 2 years later thanks to fashion, we’ve become friends =D She’s seriously someone that I’ve grown to look up to and will forever inspired by.

And of course, her style is still turning heads! She never..fails..ever..ever.

If I recall..this Chanel bag was pink but she dyed it black. Super creative! amazing are these Alexander McQueens?!

Make sure you visit Monika at Chicago In Stilettos. I’ve taken a handful of photos for her daily posts but her sister, Magda (bohostella) has been taking a ton of amazing photos lately that I definitely feel you should check out!

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it."

Photos by Peter de Guzman. Thanks, lil bro! *high fives*

Wearing: Denim & Supply moto jacket x gray hoodie x oversize white tee x H&M denim x Nike Air Force 1 mid x Club Monaco Owen backpack.

You may have seen black leather moto jacket in numerous posts but with Summer (slowly) approaching Chicago I had to find a cooler weather (it hasn’t been consistently above 75 in Chicago..yet!) alternative.

Glad to have found this one from Denim & Supply. It’s damn near perfect! Love the fit and everything about it..from the detail to the collar.

Look out for a handful of posts (perhaps my weekly adventures..features (more Style Through Her/His Eyes) coming throughout the Summer!

Hope everyone is well =D

On The Streets: Molly.

Something about Molly me. Maybe it was the playful but confident smirk on her face? Or all black? Or the hair? Regardless, I just had to document!

Her entire look is just so easy..effortless!

Pleasure to meet you, Molly! Thank you for allowing me to photo you :)

Style Through Her Eyes: Slightly Over The Top.

…when was the last time you met someone that you immediately connected with? It’s a rare occurrence..right? I’m not necessarily saying it’s hard for me to find people to connect with (in this social media era that would be hard to believe)..but I’ve been somewhat very very picky with whom I let into my life (and I feel I have every right to be). Recently I read this..

Spend time with nice people who are smart, driven and likeminded.  Relationships should help you, not hurt you.  Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be.  Choose friends who you are proud to know, people you admire, who love and respect you – people who make your day a little brighter simply by being in it.  Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.  When you free yourself from negative people, you free yourself to be YOU – and being YOU is the only way to truly live.”

..Cristina is basically everything that’s stated above. I’ve only known her for honestly..2 weeks but we To find someone that you connect and get along with so well..immediately is so rare. When that happens, it’s definitely without a doubt..worth holding onto.  This obviously isn’t the last you’ll see of Cristina. I really hope to grow, build, create and collaborate with her on many projects.

And how can I forget? She recently launched her blog at Slightly Over The Top. Stop by and check her out! =D

The 10 Rules Of Brand Building by Bobby Hundreds.

My favorite of the 10 rules?

Consistency consistently.

Consistency is demonstrative of discipline and it isn’t something you’re born with or something you can learn, especially in the Internet age of finicky job-jumping and trend-hopping. There’s no shortcut to this. You either fight tooth and nail to do it every second of every hour of every day, or you lose. Consistency is what separates the Right Nows from the Forevers.

Bobby Hundreds (If you’re not quite familiar with clothing brand The Hundreds read more on them here.) is someone whom I look up to and have a ton of respect for. I’m glad he’s taken the time to enlighten the world with insight on how to build a brand. After all, that’s what I’m here attempting to do (with this blog) the advice within this article is definitely without question what I (and perhaps you?) needed to read.

Thank you, Bobby..thank you. *high fives* Super appreciate this article!
